Another important two-sided 1960's map/study from the National Geographic. The map side contains two maps; the one on the left being an informational map of the Nile Valley from the Mediterranean down to below Thebes and Idfu. It is full of pinpointed information about the historic treasures that can be found. There are map insets of the pyramids of Giza and the
    Theban
area. The map on the right is a continuation of the other map, southward, down past Lake Nasser into Sudan and the Nubian Desert. It too contains pinpointed information about the various sites. On this side is an inset contains brief information about the various periods in the history of Ancient Egypt from the Prehistoric Period to the Decline. The reverse-side titled “Your Introduction to Ancient Egypt” contains considerable information about the area: Nile Flood Nurtures the Land; Warrior King Ruled as First Pharaoh; Thebes – Zenith of Power; and Foreign Forces Destroyed Empire. There is also a useful map index covering places in Egypt and Sudan. A useful map for the visitor or the collector.
