    Description

1990-12 Africa: Animals Threatened – National Geographic Map Poster
Africa began the 1970's with nearly 70,000 Black Rhinos and ended the 1980's with about 3,000. Their near extinction is but one illustration of the serious threats to African wildlife detailed in this colorful map. The map-side features a classic National Geographic cartographic map of Africa with a map inset of the climate and terrain. The reverse-side details 13 case studies of animal groups that are suffering. There is also a map of Africa color-coded as to type of vegetation and marked with the vulnerable and endangered species that live specific areas. An excellent study for those interested in wildlife conservation.
A companion map would be our 1989-6 The March to Extinction.
    Map is approximately 21" x 30".
The National Geographic is known for it's fine maps & detailed information.
Supplement to the National Geographic Magazine; magazine is not included.
