TEST TO IDENTIFY REAL AMBER FROM FAKE
Visual test. Amber beads, unless it specially made to be that way, is usually imperfect. Amber beads most likely have some little cracks or tiny air bubbles.
Salt water test. To do this test you will need about 7 teaspoons of slat and medium size cup of water. Mix the ingredients together and wait till the salt is fully melted. Than you can add your Amber gemstone into the cup. Amber gemstone should float in the cup, while fake amber will sink, fast. Unfortunately this method is not suitable for amber jewelry with metal or others material in it.
Hot needle test. To do this test you need to heat the needle and then push it against the Amber. If it is a genuine Amber there would be some cracks and the needle went in the amber only slightly. Also the smell of the amber would change and become similar to old punged tree.
