Fully ReConditioned Boston Musical Instrument Company Bb Trumpet - Raw Brass

Selling off my collection of Boston-made trumpets (I grew up in Boston). Here is a Boston Musical Instrument Co. Bb Trumpet in raw brass (which is why you see fingerprints on it. I let the wrong person touch it). It is in excellent playing condition, having been cleaned, stripped, straightened, freed, and gotten a full valve rebuild by the master technicians of Osmun Music in Lexington, MA. I had them leave a few minor 'character' dings that don't affect its tone to represent its history. It is tarnished, now, but would polish up if you prefer.
The horn has that classic focused sound that will reach the upper balcony with ease in the right hands. It produces a beautiful clear tone that is more 'big band' than the dark 'orchestral' sound that taken over modern symphonies.
The case is original and in surprisingly good condition for its age. The shell is is solid, the handle is trustworthy, though wrapped in tape, and the latches latch. The interior shows wear, but is also in surprisingly good condition, with no bad smells. The case looks like it was designed to hold a second tuning slide, which was not included when I bought it.
I bought this horn and restored it primarily to rescue a piece of history. BMI is long gone and there are high-end condo's where the factory used to squat in what used to be the bad part of town, but their legacy lives on is this beauty.
