Fully ReConditioned Vega "Standard" Bb Trumpet - Raw Brass

Selling off my collection of Boston-made trumpets (I grew up in Boston). Here is a The Vega Company "Standard" Bb/A Trumpet in raw brass. It is in excellent playing condition, having been stripped of its old lacquer, cleaned, straightened, de-dented, freed, and gotten a full valve rebuild by the master technicians of Osmun Music in Lexington, MA more than 20 years ago and rarely played since then. It is tarnished, now, so you would need to polish it up if you want it shiny, but it's ready to play.
It comes with a built-in rotary bypass on the tuning slide to change the key from Bb to A on-the-fly.   In either key, the horn has that classic sound that will reach the upper balcony with ease in the right hands. It produces a beautiful clear tone that is more 'big band' than the dark 'orchestral' sound that has taken over modern symphonies recently.
The case is original and in reasonably good condition for its age. The shell is solid, the handle is trustworthy, though it's a replacement, and the latches latch. The interior shows a lot of wear, but is also in surprisingly good condition, considering it's 100+ years old, with no bad smells.
I am including the original mouthpiece, which is in rough but usable condition. It's clearly had a rough life, but the rim is smooth and comfortable (for me) and suits the horn.
I bought this horn and restored it primarily to rescue a piece of history. The Vega Company is long gone and there are condo's where the factory used to squat in what used to be the bad part of town, but their legacy lives on is this beauty.  I hope someone will buy it and play it and love it and pass it along for another 100 years.
