    Description

    Glastex 'A' Vintage Trumpet Mouthpiece.
This is an interesting find from the vault. It's the lightest mouthpiece you will ever find. I bought it when I was looking for all the lightest gear I could find to try working on my lead game. It didn't work!!!! Here is a Glastex trumpet mouthpiece. I've seen these before. I don't know when they were produced but they are most probably from the 60s and 70s. All the ones I've seen were clear and this is the only one I've seen that was plated. And while we're on the topic of plating, I have never seen a mouthpiece plated with anything but silver or gold. Yes, I've seen wood, plastic, crystal, lucite, aluminum and stainless but I've never seen one plated with, nickel, for example. Therefore I am calling this a silver plated plastic mouthpiece. It plays fine and is in good shape, the rim is free of damage, though there is (very) little plating loss. The bowl has some plating bubbling going on but I wouldn't say that the plating is flaking off anywhere on this mouthpiece. I would have loved to have a mouthpiece like this for those cold football games, Fasching parades and Christmas tree lighting ceremonies! It won't freeze your chops!! It is a relatively narrow diameter bowl with a medium deep cup. It seems to strongly resemble a Bach 10.5 C. Please ask questions and request more info from me if you have any questions because there will be no returns. Shipping will cost you USPS priority to the continental US. Thank you for looking at my mouthpiece auctions.
