This is: a very nice B Flat trumpet made by Pan American, a subsidiary of Conn, in 1953. Pan American made cornets and trumpets in Elkhart, Indiana from 1917 to 1955; this trumpet has a serial number of 256250, which means it was made in 1953.
This trumpet has the original case and comes with a metal mute, a mouthpiece (labeled Mica-Mic-A-Matic), and two screw-in music holders. I played it and it plays just fine. All the slides move smoothly, as do the three valves. There is a dent in the small slide off the second valve; you can see other wear and tear on it, but it is in great shape for being nearly 70 years old. The bell is 4.75 inches in diameter.
The case weighs nearly 9 pounds and is 21 inches by 6 inches by 9 inches.
