Petrified Wood Polished Free-form Nodule (Araucaria (conifer) (Lapidary Grade) - Location: Madagascar. Here we have an attractive and colorful polished petrified wood free-form nodule from Madagascar. It is an Araucaria (conifer) from the Triassic period. The piece shows great detail and looks just like it did when the limb was still part of a 'living' tree. This makes a great display specimen (my own personal preference) however this piece also has potential for lapidary applications.
