Rockport Limestone Formation Microfossil Rock Sample 510g

Description

Crushed dolomitic limestone from the mid Devonian Rockport Limestone Formation near Alpena, Michigan. This sample was very poor in microfossil invertebrates, but there was a moderate amount of ray finned fish scales and possible globular calcified cartilage and plant material. Shark and lobe finned fish may be possible as well, but this formation is famous for its macroscopic placoderm bones. I found those myself, but no placoderm tesserae in my verification sample. You might have better luck than me.
